| Club Group Limited was formed in 1994 by 3 partners to bring a much needed service to golf course owners. As the golf business began a phenomenal boom, owners found themselves helpless against the powerful corporations buying up existing courses and building new courses with residential developments. The competition was insurmountable and facility owners were feeling the squeeze.
The main reason owners struggled to compete was lack of knowledge and expertise in the golf business. Hence, the creation of Club Group Limited. City, county, and state governments were constantly floundering looking for answers to compete with the new high end daily fee and private courses being constructed by corporations. In the late 1990's, we witnessed many large, non-golf related corporations finding huge investment opportunities in golf residential communities.
Just like most services, there is a large variety of choices in golf course management. There are big management companies, medium size, and small management companies. We are and will always be considered a fairly small company. This allows us to create a more personal relationship with our clients. At CGL, we realize golf course owners have a choice.
